The Every/One Pop-Up Experience highlights UCLA research focused on equity, diversity and inclusion under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Jerry Kang.
The first iteration of the exhibit features the Hollywood Diversity Report. The Hollywood Diversity Report asks whether or not Hollywood reflects our nation’s reality. If it doesn’t, then why? If the stories we see no longer reflect our reality, then what happens to our reality? Storytelling is a metaphor for life. It’s a reflection of our reality. From hieroglyphics to ancient proverbs to the most gut-wrenching Hollywood thrillers, storytelling is a way for us to reflect on our existence, shed light on our struggles and illuminate a path of compassion and understanding.
This molecule is a reflection of our collective reality. It binds us together no matter how fragmented we become. Its beauty lies within the diverse bending of light. Take away the diversity and you take away the beauty.
